Location: YDL-Michigan (Program Room)Join our long-running YDL Guitar Club to practice your skills, learn new songs, and play in a group!
Other stringed instruments are welcome, and singing is encouraged, but emphasis is on the guitar. Beginners may want to listen and observe for a session to see if our group is a good fit. No experience with proper sheet music is necessary, but we do often use basic tabs and chord notations.
Each person is invited to bring a song to share -- a cover tune that is relatively easy for everyone to work with. You are welcome to print and bring guitar tabs/chords and lyrics (often available online), or email group leader Aaron with a song suggestion, and he can print copies for everyone.
Recent songs we have played include "Tangerine" by Led Zepplin, "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers, "Dead Flowers" by Townes van Zandt (covered by the rolling Stones), and "St. James Infirmary Blues" -- a classic blues tune with versions by Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, and Arlo Guthrie.
