About this Event

Join Young China Watchers, RealTime Mandarin, and the American Mandarin Society for a summer happy hour for Mandarin learners, Mandarin speakers, and those interested in China. This happy hour will be held in conjunction with a series of happy hours hosted around the globe, organized by RealTime Mandarin, to connect language learners from their community. Whether you have studied China for years, are new to Mandarin learning, or are just interested in meeting other China nerds in DC - all are welcome to join this happy hour!

This event will take place at the Dacha Loft, located upstairs at the Dacha Beer Garden Shaw location (1600 7th St NW). Admission is free, but RSVPs are required. Drinks will be available for purchase -- please consider buying a drink to keep future events free!

About RealTime Mandarin

RealTime Mandarin (https://www.realtimemandarin.com) is a multimedia resource which helps you learn contemporary Chinese in context, and stay on top of the latest language trends in China. Published weekly, it delivers in-depth news and insights into what things people are talking about in China as they happen.

About The American Mandarin Society

The American Mandarin Society (AMS) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to strengthening American capacity for effective engagement with China. Our 3,000+ members have lived in China, Taiwan, and other Chinese-speaking societies, are skilled in Mandarin Chinese, and strive to apply their professional skills in the American workforce.
Since 2011, AMS has helped these Americans hone their language skills, deepen their policy knowledge, and build the professional networks that allow them to engage in the vital work of strengthening the United States’ competitiveness and ties with Asia in the 21st century. Our steadily growing membership includes federal, state, and city government employees, businesspeople, scholars, employees of civil society groups, and other professionals. Our commitment to supporting these talented Americans is rooted in the conviction that prosperity, stability, and peace at home and in the entire Asia-Pacific region depend on it.
