Please join us for a community conversation about the importance of literacy for a thriving York. The event will begin with a brief talk entitled "Alone with Each Other: Literacy and Literature Intertwined" by Dr. Eli Goldblatt, a community literacy advocate, poet, and professor emeritus from Temple University. Then Dr. Goldblatt will be joined by a panel of community leaders, and the audience will be invited to engage in a discussion on the ways that literacy and the humanities enriches, and even saves, lives. Panelists include Eli Goldblatt (YCP Writer-in-Residence), Ken Dinitz (PA Humanities Council), Dominic DelliCarpini (YCP Naylor Endowed Professor of Writing Studies), and Endi Dabney (York City Trauma Responder).Light hor d'oeuvres and further conversation to follow.
Doors open at 4:30PM and the talk begins at 5PM.
