Lake Mulwala has a long proud history with powerboat racing and in 2010 hosted the World Grand Prix Hydroplane Championships.
The EC Griffith Cup Is named in honour of the trophy’s donor Earnest Charles Griffith. The race was for the title of Australasian Motor Boat Championship, with the first race being held in Manly. Today the cup has become the Australasian Power Boat Championship.
The 2025 Yarrawonga Powerboat Spectacualr & Fair and The 2025 EC Griffith Cup Carnival will see Lake Mulwala play host to a full schedule of races for a variety of boat classes over three days.
The event is generally the domain of the Grand Prix Hydroplanes, the world’s fastest circuit race boats which roar across the water at surface speeds in excess of 280 kilometres per hour.
Dont miss the ledgendary Matt Hall the reigning Red Bull Air Race world champion and former Royal Australian Air Force top gun fighter pilot as he peforms death defying aerobatics, stunts and even races against one of the powerboats!
FUN for the boat enthusiasts and FUN for families alike, with thrill rides, sideshow alley, static displays, food vendors and merch stalls all weekend.
All ticket holders who scan their tickets on the day will receive a coloured wristband that corrisponds with the type of ticket you have purchased. If you have only purchased a day pass you will only recieve the colour corrisponding to your ticket day. New coloured wristbands will be issued each day.
These wristbands will give you acsess freedom in and out of the event for the duration of that day.
