Human beings create meaning and understanding through the sharing of stories. Listening to personal stories is an important way of gaining a deeper understanding of the world in which we live.People at the Cathedral Visioning Day in March requested that we provide opportunities to hear the stores of First Nations people.
Our first Yarning Circle will be held on Sunday June 30, 11.15am to 12.30pm in the Darnell Room.
Our guest will be Cathedral community member, Uncle Bill Lemson, who will share some of his life story.
NAIDOC Week, which celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, begins on July 7 (NAIDOC – National Aborigines’ and Islanders’ Day Observance Committee. Details at www.naidoc.org.au).
