We're calling it Yard-Sale-Apalooza! A three-day neighborhood-wide event starting Friday, June 7th and running through Sunday, June 9th, in which AVSN is encouraging all residents to clean-out their garages, sheds, and basements and throw yard sale signs in their lawn!! We are also welcoming local artists, urban farmers, and residents with any other type of hand made good to participate from the convenience of their yards.The event will be heavily advertised across multiple local publications, and signage will be displayed in neighborhood entrance points in the days leading up to the event. The objective is to engage the maximum amount of shopper interest with the goal of assisting our residents with selling their secondhand items that would otherwise go to the trash OR in buying secondhand items that someone might otherwise buy new.
By declaring and marketing one weekend every year as Yard-Sale-Apalooza, we hope this collective approach to the classic yard sale becomes so popular that we can turn this weekend into Yard-Sale-Apalooza every year! That way we can increase residential and shopper turnout year-over-year and collectively do our part to support a localized circular economy right here in our neighborhood!
PLEASE NOTE: Yard-Sale-Apalooza will be a permitted event through the City of Wheat Ridge. Residents of AVSN who intend to participate in selling items on their property during the event must complete the below registration form in order to avoid fines for non-compliance with City code of enforcement policy.
