Join us for a radiant celebration—our Yaddo Artist Medal party, honoring Sidra Bell, Jill Viney, and Langston Hughes. The Ground We Stand On
Since 1926, Yaddo has held fast to a simple but powerful idea: Artists need time, space, and freedom to create. In an era marked by division and censorship, we remain steadfast in our commitment to artistic expression, individual achievement, and the collective spirit of community. This fall, we invite you to stand with us—firm in purpose, open in heart—as we come together for a radiant celebration of three remarkable artists at our 2025 Yaddo Medal celebration: Sidra Bell, Jill Viney, and Langston Hughes.
The Yaddo Artist Medal honors those whose lives and work embody creative brilliance, generosity of spirit, and a belief in the transformative power of art. Designed by James Siena, the medal reflects the enduring values of our residency program: excellence, creative freedom, and unity. Past honorees include luminaries such as Laurie Anderson, Philip Roth, Martin Puryear, Amy Hempel, and Alfred Leslie. In 2024, we honored Lisa Cortés, Young Jean Lee, Tarik O’Regan, and Amy Sillman, as well as posthumously recognizing Chester Himes—part of our ongoing commitment to honoring artists whose voices shape and challenge the culture.
Yaddo NYC 2025 is more than a celebration. It is a gathering to delight in creative freedom, a tribute to perseverance, and a joyful reminder that the arts are a vital, democratizing force. Join us for an intimate dinner, a powerful moment of connection, and a night that reaffirms the ground we stand on.
