**THE STORY **The story details the dramatic impact of a national election such as the current one, and policies such as Project 2025 on a fictional small city library. The library, in many respects, stands in for the chaotic conditions happening to the country itself. Librarians are the heroes of this story.
Particularly a few reference librarians and their clear-eyed understanding of what libraries stand for and the potential they possess as they rise to confront the cravenness, cowardice and destruction that ensues as the story unfolds.
Todd Parker…male 40s attorney (personal injury cases). He is ambitious and a conservative activist. Ambitious. One of the film’s opportunists and villains.
Mek (Tyler Janek) ...male or female 20s – early 40s, tech nerd, ultraconservative activist. He believes in a medieval system of restrictions brought about by technology.

Mia Jenner…female 30s – 40s board member, assistant, and sycophant to her aunt Marla. She has an incomplete personality.
Patrick Jarmon…male 50s – 60s, library director. An effective enough leader in good times, but indecisive and powerless when things turn bad.
Maureen Southwick…female earlier 50s, reference librarian, Women and Gender Studies. A dedicated librarian to her subject area but she is impatient with obstacles and avoids conflict.
Jane Park…female latter 20s – earlier 30s, Asian, Science Reference Librarian. Warm and enthusiastic about helping others and her subject area but becomes
confused and disillusioned when challenges become too intense.
Michael Barton…male 30s, Business Reference Librarian. Dedicated and good in his subject area but exits quickly challenging situations.
