XTERRA GOZO TRAILS is part of the XTERRA Trail Marathon Series. Gozo Ultra is a 50k+ trail run around the perimeter of the mediterranean island of Gozo. The full distance is 50km with 1500m of total elevation. The race cut-off time of 10 hours, is relaxed to encourage beginners to take part, and those wishing to enjoy the trail, rather than race it.
The 21km trail is run over the last half of the course, while the 11K Trail starts at the end of the route and diverges to end at the Race HQ in Ghajnsielem. The shorter distances are great for beginners to experience the gorgeous trail or seasoned trail runners wanting to test their limits and push themselves across the course!
The 50k Ultra Distance is recognised for 2 ITRA points and is a UTMB qualifier for international trail races.
The 50K and 21K event QUALIFY the Age Group Winners for the XTERRA Trail Running World Championships.
SCHEDULE
8am - Start of Ultra Trail Run
10:30am - Start of 21K Route
12pm - Start of 11K Route
15:30 - Award Ceremony
18:00 - Cut Off Time for All Events
Transport from the ferry to the Race Starts is included on Gozo as well as the dinner after the race.
