Kristiania Flipperselskap are excited to invite you all to the annual XMAS Matchplay Open tournament weekend at our pinball club in Oslo, Norway!The dates for this years XMAS will be 5th-7th of December, registration for the tournament will open on the 22nd of October. https://www.flipperselskapet.no/xmas You can find registration here.
This year will be a Sandra Søbyskogen Memorial Edition, where we share a weekend of exciting and fun competitive pinball as a tribute to Mortens wife, Sandra, who passed away in 2018. She was an integral part of the pinball scene from 2014, participating in tournaments in and outside Norway, bringing her cakes and cookies to tournaments and spreading joy with her presence.

Illegal Pinball will have a tournament on Thursday at their location in downtown Oslo for the people who arrive early. Link to that event to come.
Friday 5th of December: XMAS WARMUP:
On the Friday there will be a warmup tournament. Format will be finalized ASAP.

Saturday 6th of December: XMAS MAIN qualifications | Group Matchplay
FORMAT:
The qualifications will consist of 10 rounds with 2 games in each round. First round pairing will be slaugther and after that there will be strict swiss pairing.
If 48+ players then 24 advance. If less then 16 advance.

Sunday 7th of December: XMAS MAIN FINALS:
In playoffs there will be three/four rounds of group matchplay (depending on how many advance.), each round consists of 4 or 5 games. Scoring 7-5-3-1 Top two in each group advances to next. This continues all the way til the finals are done, and the XMAS champion of 2024 is determined!
In quarter finals, top seed in each group from qualification chooses game bank, then choose their starting position on game 1. Player starting order choice on consecutive machines is determined by the previous game results.
In semi finals and finals, top seed from QUALIFICATION in each group chooses game 1 and 2 in their group, then following seeds in each group chooses a machine. Top seed from QUALIFICATION then chooses start order on game 1. Player starting order choice on consecutive machines is determined by the previous game results.
Each game can only be chosen once during semi finals and finals.
