This 3-hour class is held in our Ōtaki Beach studio!Using copper or brass to practice, then moving on to work in sterling silver, you'll learn to cut, heat and apply textures that mimic the textures of nature. Print feathers and dried grasses into your metal using specialised jewellery tools. It's like a magic trick!
Choose your favourite texture and create a beautiful silver ring to wear away - or to gift to someone special.
Learn to measure your finger, cut metal to length and texture it without rolling mill, hammers and punches. Then use a jewellers torch, sandpaper and polishing, and your beautiful new ring will be ready to wear.
This 3-hour class is ideal for beginners, groups of friends and visitors to the city.
Included in the class fee are copper and brass for practising on, up to 6 grams of sterling silver and all consumables such as sandpaper, solder and chemicals. Extra metals are available for purchase in the studio.
Kids aged 12 (or so) are welcome to attend the class, but any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.
