This is a popular 13-mile walk from Wye, we previously did on 18th August 2024, and here is another opportunity to partake, as it makes the annual visit to Ashford Ramblers schedule. This walk contains a number of ascents, but we begin gently, leaving the village along the North Downs Way, heading in a westerly direction, to ascend through Soakham Downs and into King's Wood.
After making progress through the woodland, we proceed down a byway to soon pass through the delightful Jane Austen inspired Godmersham Park. Then, after crossing the busy A28, we ascend steadily uphill to the remote Crundale church, where our lunch stop will most likely take place.
Continuing below the brow of Crundale Downs, our route once again returns to the NDW to pass above Wye Crown. From there it is now downhill all the way, returning to Wye for a well deserved drink.
The New Flying Horse is our pub of choice, so you are welcome to join us in whatever takes your fancy.
Non-members are welcome to participate in up to three walks, before joining the Ramblers
