Enjoy a short and scenic steam train ride between Charlton and Wycheproof.
Steam over the Avoca River, past Mount Deboobetic and across the plains. Keep an eye out for the forgotten stations of Teddywaddy, Glenloth and Fairview and wave to the locals and photographers as you travel in style.
Saturday 18th October 2025
Our complimentary bus service will depart Wycheproof Station 4:30pm (Camp Street Side at Grain Silo), arriving at Charlton Station to meet the Steam Train.
The Steam Train will depart Charlton Station at 5:20pm (Arundell Square side), all passengers should be on the platform at Charlton 15 minutes before departure.
We will arrive back into Wycheproof Station Siding (Camp Street Side at Grain Silo) at 6:00pm.
Sunday 19th October 2025
The Steam Train will depart Wycheproof Main Street (outside Post Office) at 10:00am, all passengers should be outside the Post Office 15 minutes before departure.
We will arrive into Charlton Station (Arundell Square side) at 10:50am.
Our complimentary bus service will depart Charlton Station at 11:00am arriving back at Wycheproof Post Office at 11:20am.
THE VINTAGE TRAIN
Ride with us onboard 'The Vintage Train’, fully restored by Steamrail as an important part of Victoria’s rail heritage. Our steam locomotives are coal or oil fired and date from 1889 to 1952, while the carriages range from as early as 1906. The train features beautiful timber work & pressed-tin ceilings, walk-through corridors, comfortable compartment style seating, a licensed bar and kiosk, and toilets with washrooms. All rail seating is reserved.
