DESCRIPTION & RULES:
"The year is 1085. King Canute IV of Denmark is slain by peasant rebels before he can launch the last great Norse invasion of England. At the same time, William the Conquerer commissions the Domesday book, allegedly to record land value in England.
"This is a lie.
"Canute IV, as he lay dying in St. Alban's Priory in Odense, swore he would have his revenge, and complete his invasion of England. The Domesday book was penned to trap his immortal spirit.
"The year is 1985.
"It has been 900 years since the death of Canute IV. The Domesday book weakens. And on Álfablót of 1985, three three-hundred year cycles after his death, he and his warriors awaken. This time his warriors come not with axes and longships, but with the arms and armor of the modern age!
"The year is 1985. The last Viking invasion has begun!"

There is room for a maximum of 16 players.

Fair play and good sportsmanship, as always, will be a key focus of this event (as there may be several new players). Veteran players should take it upon themselves to explain what they are doing and why to any less experienced opponents to reduce confusion, and encourage them to come to future events.

There will be painting standards for this event! Your army must be at least in primer. If your army is painted to a 3-colors based standard, you will earn +1VP per game

Players must build a single 120 point force for this event. We will be using DYNAMIC POINTS.

Lists must be typed and emailed OR generated in "Forces" and emailed by attached PDF. Players should bring printed copies of their lists or electronic copies shareable with their opponents.

All World War III: Team Yankee forces / books (as FAQ'ed) will be valid for this event.

"Red vs. Blue" matching will be attempted in the first round, with British and other Commonwealth forces playing "Blue," and the spectral Viking raiders playing "Red." Valid forces are listed below, in order of the likelihood of their forces to be assigned to "BluFor" (1) or "RedFor" (21):

Because this event uses 2hr 45min-rounds, incomplete game win/loss determinations will occur if a player exceeds 1hr. 40min instead of 1hr. 30min.

The Following Missions will be played:

Round 1: "Rise from your Graves"
"The spirits of long dead Vikings possess their distant descendants and lay siege to their ancient enemies!"
* Viking Players Attack, BluFor Players each Defend on their choice of Bridgehead or Counterattack

Round 2: "Stamford Bridge - Redux"
"The invasion of Britain culminates at the ancient site of Stamford Bridge, as the forces of the living attempt to exorcise the Vikings from England!"
* BluFor Players Attack, Viking Players each Defend on their choice of Breakthrough or No Retreat

Round 3: "A Sacrifice to the Elves"
"With their hold on the mortal realm fading, the Vikings attempt a great blot to solidify their hold on the world of the living. The victims of this sacrifice? The armies of their enemies!"
* Roll off, higher scoring player Attacks; play Dust Up

The following SPECIAL RULES will be in effect for all games:
---1) The Gathering Dark - All battles will take place, by default, at DUSK. However, if both players in a match-up agree, they may play their entire battle at DAY or NIGHT.
---2) Special Delivery! - For all missions that use reserves, reserves will not be rolled for normally. The following reserves rules will be used:

Immediate Reserves:
Turn 1 - roll 1D6, on a 6+ a unit arrives
Turn 2 - a unit arrives, and on a D6 roll of 6+ another arrives
Turn 3 - a unit arrives, and on a D6 roll of 6+ another arrives
Turn 4 - all remaining reserves arrive

Delayed Reserves:
Play the exact same rules as above, but begin rolling on Turn #2 and finish any remaining arrivals on Turn #5.
