Event Description of Activity:
Join me for a unique weekend getaway to Fort Ransom State Park. We will be spending two nights in the Bjone House. This is a historic homestead with modern amenities. This early pioneer homestead house, constructed in 1879, sleeps eight with three queen bedrooms and a pullout couch and has one bathroom. The home has a full kitchen and deck out back overlooking the Sheyenne River.
Taking its name from an 1860s military fort, Fort Ransom State Park is located in the midst of the scenic and heavily wooded Sheyenne River Valley. The park provides abundant opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, paddling, fishing and bird watching.
Linens and towels are NOT provided. Each bed will host two ladies, sleeping at opposite ends, in their own sleeping bag. We will have access to a full kitchen. All meals will be on your own and provided by you. We can share the refrigerator/freezer conveniences although space may be limited. A cooler and ice may be a good idea if you plan to bring food items that require refrigeration. The kitchen amenities will be available to cook your meals.

We will spend our days hiking or snowshoeing throughout the park (weather dependent). Cross-country ski rentals are available for $15/day if we have enough snow.
Depending upon the weather, we may do a night hike. We can have a game night, spend time together, and enjoy each other’s company. You are welcome to bring your choice of beverages.
The cost to rent the home will be split among attending guests. If eight of us register and attend, the cost will be $40.00 per person, if only six attend, it will be $53.00 each.
