The Homefront Campaign played an important role In helping the fight against the Nazis from Home. Whilst conflicts were taking place in Europe, it was the people on the Homefront keeping the country going. This story is one not to be missed.
You will hear stories of The Blitz, The arrival of the US Army, German Spies in Wallasey, The AA Guns at the Red Noses, The Maunsell Forts in the River Mersey, local Rationing, The Dig for Victory Campaign, Ladies and their new duties, Evacuation, War Dances at the Tower Ballroom and Post War Rebuilding Period of the Seaside Resort.
Your Wartime adventure will be Starting inside our Napoleonic Fort on the Banks of the River Mersey. Following the Tour you can enjoy some of Aunty Moe’s Wartime Scouse whilst listening to Wartime Music

This event is sitting down talk inside the Mess Quarters Cafe with a Presentation by our Historian & Author followed by a short walk around the outsides of the Fort and Lighthouse. We are Wheelchair and Scooter Friendly and this tour is suitable for all.

This is a Ticket only event and Your Table will be reserved so please arrive at 10am, grab a drink or something to eat and we will get start around 10.20am. Following the Talk, for those who are able we can take a short walk out to the beach at the side of the Fort where you will here of the local defences on the Mersey.
