Our Courtyard Talk begins in our seated area at 2pm with the Origins of Fort Perch Rock in Napoleonic Times giving a detailed history of the Fort from Napoleonic Wars to Modern Day. You will then hear about Life on the Homefront during WW2 and hear the Secrets of the Seaside Resort during Wartime.
The Homefront Campaign played an important role In helping the fight against the Nazis from Home. Whilst conflicts were taking place in Europe, it was the people on the Homefront keeping the country going.
You will hear stories of The Blitz, The arrival of the US Army, German Spies in Wallasey, The AA Guns at the Red Noses, The Maunsell Forts in the River Mersey, local Rationing, The Dig for Victory Campaign, Ladies and their new duties, Evacuation, War Dances at the Tower Ballroom and Post War Rebuilding Period of the Seaside Resort.
