Salem Summer Solstice 5k & 10k run with Ice Cream Sundae Finish!The Willamette Valley Road Runners is hosting its annual evening race at Minto Brown Island Park Friday, June 14th, 2024. The 10k starts at 7:00 pm and costs just $20 to register before May 29th for a chip-timed race. The 5k begins at 7:10 pm and costs $15 to register before May 29. Both races have a slight price increase on May 30th. There is day of registration of $25(10k) and $20(5k) for both races and only cash or checks written to Willamette Valley Road Runners is accepted night of the race. The race starts and finishes at the pavilion by parking lot # 3 in Minto Brown Park.
Strollers are permitted (rollerblades, skateboards, and dogs are not). Walkers are allowed in the 5k but the course timing and monitoring ends at 8:30pm – meaning everyone has 90 minutes to finish. All participants and volunteers are welcome to an ice cream sundae at the end of the race under the pavilion.
Day of race registration and race bib pickup starts at 6:00 pm the night of the race.

Aid stations: One water station is provided for both races around mile point 1.25 for the 5k and 4.25 for the 10k.
Proceeds from the race benefit the McKay High School cross-country team.
