Heavy Flute Rockers WUCAN from Dresden, Germany have unveiled Far & Beyond, their first single off of their third album which is slated for release in spring 2022. The new track finds the band who is fronted by singer and multi-instrumentalist Franicis Tobolsky boldly channeling their best 1980s Rock ’n‘ Metal inspirations into an infectious almost poppy Hard Rock hymn full of hooks, synths, great vocals and guitar solos one can sing along to! WUCAN are set to tour Germany in September roadtesting new material and getting back into the groove after 1,5 years of pandemic hiatus.
Swedish hard rockers DEAD LORD were clearly born too late. Formed in 2012 in Stockholm, Sweden, members Hakim Krim (vocals/guitars), Olle Hedenström (guitars), Martin Nordin (bass) and Adam Lindmark (drums) are clearly more at home with 1976 (the year Thin Lizzy’s Jailbreak hit stores) than they are with 2020. As time machines don’t exist, however, the members are stuck in the present, where they decided to form the hardest working, hardest sounding rock band since The Hellacopters took off with Grande Rock at the turn of the millennium. With four albums to the wind—the band’s newest ‘Surrender’ hits stores worldwide in September 2020—Dead Lord aren’t hoping you’ll join them, they’re demanding you join them. Riff by riff. Hook by hook.
Gathering in the basements of Neukölln in 2015, VUG quickly developed a heavy yet melodic rock sound that would feel just as at home in the Scandinavian rock capital of Gothenburg. Formed by longtime friends Max Raine (guitar), Philip Hennermann (bass) and Felix Scholl (guitar, vocals) and eventually finalized by Nick DiSalvo (drums) the band already had a diverse history of DIY punk, stoner rock and doom in the members’ collective past. However, the goal here was always simple and timeless: making loud music, having a good time and not giving a shit about labels.
