About this Event
Join us for the Winchester School of Art Fashion & Textiles Evening Course!
During this course you will explore some of the many different techniques that fashion and textile artists use within their practice, building your own portfolio.
The beginning of the course will focus on fashion, with students selecting a garment to work on for a series of weeks. They will learn different techniques to add to the garment including sashiko, borrow, weaving, and decorative embroidery. Students will then style and photographs these garments in our flash studio, before developing the images into fashion editorials.
The second half of the course will focus on the textile techniques of soft sculpture and crochet. For each technique one week will explore methods, and planning, and the other will focus on the development of a sampler using this method.
All basic materials needed will be provided, though there are some instances where students can bring in their own items if they would like to.
