Micheldever Variety Group Presents SUMMER SHORTS!
Calling all writers, directors, actors and backstage hands to join us for a night of short plays by the local community on Saturday 25th July 2026!
In this new twist on a show MVG will put on an evening of performances written and performed by the local community. Anyone can get involved and you can do as much or as little as you choose so there is something for everyone! You could write, direct and cast your own sketch or choose to just have a small part in someone’s writing it’s entirely up to you. Please see below for specific details:
Details for Writers:
All plays submitted should be no more than 10 minutes in length and can be any genre.
As we will be showcasing a number of plays, minimal set and a smaller cast size is preferable.
If you have an idea that you would like help to form into a play then consider our writing workshop series with award-winning writer Cynthia Huijens for £25 on the following rescheduled dates:
• Mon 23rd February 7–10pm – Northbrook Hall, Micheldever
• Mon 30th March 7–8:30pm – Zoom
• Mon 20th April 7–10pm – Northbrook Hall
Please state what assistance you would like from MVG in putting on your play - The organising crew can provide any of the following:
Rehearsal/performance space
Lighting/Sound/Backstage crew
Casting/director
Access to the MVG costume/prop collection
Details for Players:
A play is not a play without its players so we are also on the hunt for actors, directors and backstage crew! In your expression of interest please state what areas you’d be interested in getting involved with (you can try different things for different plays so feel free to try out something new!)
