About the Workshop Series

Writing Therapy: Start Your First Chapter is a series of three structured writing sessions that invite you to draw on your personal experience to tell stories that reflect on mental health and personal well-being. Participants will have the opportunity to receive feedback on their writing and, at the end of the stint, produce their own mini-memoirs or essays under the guidance of author Mahita Vas, author of Praying to The Goddess of Mercy: A Memoir of Mood Swings. Both the practice and products of writing will function as a form of “narrative therapy” to edify both writers and readers alike as compelling stories are brought to life through the lens of personal insight, experience, and memory about the lives we lead and the world we live in.
