Aim of Course:
To provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to prepare and submit high quality funding applications to charitable trusts, foundations and the National Lottery Community Fund, ones that stand a good chance of success.
Course Objectives
By the end of the session participants will:
- understand what charitable trusts and foundations are looking for in a grant application
- understand the principles and process for preparing and submitting a funding application
- Understand the key do’s and don’ts when preparing a funding application
The training is 2 hours, plus one hour for people to get individual support to work on their own funding plan
The speaker:
Rachel Walmsley has been a development consultant for the voluntary sector for 20 years. She works as a mentor for CEOs and with Boards on strategic planning. She has been a funding strategy adviser and bid writer for 10 years. As a bid writer, alongside her colleague John Harris she has raised over £8.5 million for charities in Yorkshire from a range of funders including the National Lottery Community Fund, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and a range of trusts and foundations. Her training style is interactive and inclusive.
Eligibility
The training is free. Funded by York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority through the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This training is open to all Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations based and operating in the City of York, including York Outer or with beneficiaries in York.
**Due to high demand this training is limited to two places per VCSE organisation**
If you are unable to attend, please do let us know as soon as possible so that we can try to offer the place to another delegate. We can accept a substitute from your organisation.
