About the Book:
In her new book Star Boy, Sergi writes of parenting, love and wonder and worry, and witnessing a child wrestle with addiction, while navigating support systems. Sergi’s writing shares experience through the language of the poet. Over the last few years, so many of us have come to a greater understanding of the importance of mental health support, and our connections to each other, so we are pleased to be able to share the perspective of psychotherapist-counselor Kari Meyer alongside Sergi’s work – discussing the realities of addiction experienced by both the addict and those who love them and ways creative therapies can assist in expressing these realities while promoting change. Resources for both the addict/alcoholic and family members will be shared.
