About this Event
Join personal essayist and memoirist Jocelyn Jane Cox to discuss a variety of ways to approach memoir writing, breaking “rules” and…jumping in. She will provide some decisions to consider upfront and techniques to mine memories throughout. Whether you’re still in the ideation stage or already entrenched, this workshop will inspire and demystify the process through samples, resources, and exercises. Bring a notebook or laptop. The cost per person is $30.
Jocelyn Jane Cox is a local essayist, author, and writing coach whose personal essays have appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Independent, Good Men Project, WIRED, Slate, and several literary magazines. She holds a graduate degree in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College and a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Pennsylvania. Her memoir MOTION DAZZLE: A Memoir of Motherhood, Loss, and Skating on Thin Ice will be released by Vine Leaves Press on September 30, 2025.
