WRITING IS RAD Fall Session: 6-Week Creative Writing Class for Young People with Kate Schatz, at BOOKS INC, ALAMEDA

Are you a middle/high school student who dreams of being a writer? Always making up stories in your head? Got lots of creative ideas but not sure where to start? Curious about how to write a poem? Or a story? Or both?!

Check out WRITING IS RAD, a 6-week series of Creative Writing classes at Books, Inc in Alameda. Led by award-winning local author and educator Kate Schatz, these classes are designed to help you be a writer in a safe, supportive environment. We'll do fun writing exercises, we'll explore the bookstore to find inspiration, and we'll talk about books and writing. Over six classes you’ll explore genres and styles and discover new ways to develop characters, write dialogue, use descriptive language, and more.

No previous creative writing experience necessary—the only requirements are curiosity, imagination and a love for the written word! (Also there's no homework!)

Classes take place at Books, Inc on Park St in Alameda, Mondays from 4:30-6pm, beginning on Mon October 27th. The dates will be:
