Note: This program is a 90 minute in-person workshop taking place at the San Diego Law Library Downtown location.

About the Program

By attending this in person, 90-minute seminar, you will learn how to:

• Present a written argument using effective introductions;

• Recognize over-wordy and succinct written argument;

• Write an argument meeting trial judge expectations;

• Present a written argument using effective topic headings;

• Present a written argument using effective fact statements;

• Apply these techniques to an actual motion and change it into a brief the court finds persuasive.

About the Speaker

Randall Christison has practiced law for over 35 years, focusing on civil litigation and on training lawyers. He has handled many trials and appeals and has been AV-rated for 25 years. He has authored books on law practice for CEB, as well as articles on professional training and legal writing skills. His community activities include serving as a Judge pro tem and arbitrator for the San Diego Superior Court and an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
