About this Event
Join local award-winning poet Ilisha Thiru Purcell for a generative poetry workshop about writing our dreams. Looking at other poems and using our own dreams as inspiration, there will be different prompts and exercises to explore the language and importance of dreams. This workshop is suitable for those with all levels of writing experience. All proceeds will go to West End Refugee Service who support and provide opportunities for asylum seekers and refugees across Tyneside. The suggested donation is £10.

Ilisha Thiru Purcell is an award-winning poet from Newcastle. She is part of the inaugural Poets of Colour Incubator Programme and was a Young Creative Associate with New Writing North. Her work has appeared in publications such as Butcher’s Dog and Bi+ Lines Anthology and she was shortlisted for Nine Arches’ Primers Volume 7. Her current project as part of the Incubator Programme explores sleep and dreams.
