About this Event
In this five week intensive course, we explore writing about restaurants from many angles: writing critically, writing in brief, writing personally, and writing fiction. We hope to unlock the answer to the question: How does one write about restaurants in a compelling and engaging way?
Class will meet on September 9, 16, 23, 30 and October 7 from 6pm-8pm.
WRITING ABOUT RESTAURANTS will be a fun and lively discussion seminar with a small class enrollment. We will be writing in class and at home, and there will be chances to share work and get feedback.
There will be reading homework drawing from an amazing variety of sources. All levels of food knowledge are welcome, the only prerequisite is curiosity and interest about the subject matter.
A full syllabus will be e-mailed at least two weeks before class begins, and links and hand-outs of the reading will be provided. All “textbooks” will be available from Bold Fork at a discount to class members.
One scholarship slot will be made available to a student with a deep interest in food journalism. Please email events@boldforkbooks for more information.
