Date: Friday, May 9th, 2025
Time: 6:30-8pm
Calling all writers! Join us for an insightful and interactive writing workshop designed to help you break through creative roadblocks and reignite your storytelling passion.
Hosted by Thomas “T.A” Snyder and Adam Galassi, who bring over 40 years of combined experience in screenwriting and prose storytelling, this workshop will dive into the essential techniques for breaking through the noise that keeps our creativity stifled.
Techniques for Idea Development:
Discover tools and methods that can help rekindle momentum on stalled projects, offering practical advice for getting your writing back on track. Snyder and Galassi will speak candidly about their own creative challenges and share strategies for overcoming them. They will also discuss how your characters can be the key to unlocking the core of your story.
Q&A on Overcoming Creative Resistance and Feedback:
Struggling with writer's block or feeling stuck creatively on a specific project? Bring your idea or piece to the group! You’ll have the opportunity to share your project for up to 5 minutes and receive tailored feedback. This is your chance to engage in an open discussion about the resistance and roadblocks writers often face. This interactive session will help you reshape your work or discover a new approach with a newfound energy.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is open to writers of all backgrounds. While your hosts will emphasize techniques relevant to screenwriting and long-form prose storytelling, the principles discussed are applicable to poets, short story writers, and those working in mixed media. Everyone is welcome to attend and learn how to break through creative barriers, no matter the form your writing takes!

Whether you're an aspiring screenwriter, novelist, or poet, this workshop will provide the tools and encouragement you need to take your creative projects to the next level. We look forward to helping you find the spark that reignites your writing journey!

More About Our Hosts!
T.A Snyder
T.A Snyder began his writing journey in high school when a teacher, noting his admiration for the works of Edgar Allan Poe and Flannery O’Connor, encouraged him to write sequels to his favorite stories and read them to the class. After graduating from Petersburg PORTA, Thomas moved to Chicago and studied at Columbia College, graduating with a concentration in film directing and screenwriting. In 2014, he won the Screencraft Fellowship for his feature script, DEAD MEN, and moved to Los Angeles where his feature screenplay THE VOLUNTEER was featured in the Top 50 for the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship.
In 2017, the Hollywood Tracking Board awarded Snyder the grand prize for television writing. He signed a development deal with Endgame Entertainment and was hired to write YASUKE, a historical epic for Millennium Media. In the subsequent years, Snyder has taken pitch meetings with most of Hollywood’s biggest studios and production companies, and for 13 seasons has worked as a story editor for the CBS reality series, BIG BROTHER.
Snyder has collaborated with Adam Galassi on multiple projects, and to this day, two of his favorite creative experiences are co-writing the screenplays for their indie features, TROUBADOURS and SALT CREEK COUNTY. Currently, he is writing a mystery novel, SNAKE HOLLOW, inspired by his adolescence in central Illinois and adapted from a TV series he pitched to Zero Gravity Entertainment.
ADAM GALASSI
Adam Galassi is a writer and director working across both stage and independent film. His credits include co-writing and co-directing three independent feature films, as well as multiple music videos. His debut stage play, February Morning, premiered with a full run at The Artistic Home in Chicago. His most recent feature, The Know, found a global audience at festivals in over ten countries, earning the Cult Classic Award from Cult Classic Magazine in 2017, and taking home Best Feature at the Chicago Independent Film and Television Festival.
