Join highly acclaimed author Hossein Asgari in finding inspiration from everyday living to craft compelling narratives. In Scarface, the protagonist Tony Montana, played by Al Pacino, famously says, “Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie.” This line embodies the essence of any powerful, engaging story: lies woven together to convey a “truth”.
The workshop aims to illustrate how writers fictionalise elements of their day-to-day lives to craft compelling narratives, transforming personal experiences into stories that help them make sense of their realities and evoke what they perceive as their truths.
Participants will:
Identify those ‘story-worthy’ moments
Explore the ideas related to those moments
Develop characters that suit the story
Build the world of the story
Refine and rewrite
