About this Event

Writer's Roundtable are gatherings designed to bring together local writers, authors, poets, and creatives, to discuss ideas and ongoing projects, break writer's block and enjoy prompt writing exercises.


Where: City Center Gallery & Books
112 Hay St, Fayetteville, NC 28301

What time: 6pm to 9PM (guests begin arriving at 6pm) We begin between 630pm and 7pm. No need to rush. You will arrive at the right time.


Where to park: Street parking is easiest. Parking lot directly across street, too. Street parking is free around 7pm. If you need to pay anything for parking, it will be $1. It's a deal!


What to bring: Anything you are working on, whether outline, idea or full manuscript. Poetry and short stories very welcome too.


Consider bringing a laptop/tablet, paper and/or pen/pencil
(we will have materials for you to use too).


Don't be shy! It's time to do something different. Receive feedback and encouragement. Meet new people. Collaborate!


What do we do:


6pm to 630pm: Guests begin to arrive. Meet in a gallery bookstore setting. We help make introductions. Thank you for being present!


645pm to 735pm: Roundtable Perpective. We begin with a roundtable perspective discussion. Learn about other guests perspectives and experiences. They may even similar to yours!


735pm to 8pm: Roundtable Reading. Guests discuss current works, group readings, and helpful suggestions. Share work, Give/Receive feedback.


8pm to 9pm: Writing Prompts! Guests are given statements or questions, to be written about, with time limit. We share with one another! Repeat! Rewarding and fun!


Cost: Suggested contribution is $5 to $10. For your contribution, you can apply this amount towards any book or item in the bookstore! So, along with all you receive for participating, you can also apply this contribution towards any book or item in the bookstore! That's a deal!


For many people, this is their first time attending or sharing work and ideas. Don't be shy. It's time to do something different. Meet new interesting people and enjoy a relaxed, safe environment.
