**This event is a makeup date**Join us in Humanities 112 on the Arnold campus on Tuesday, February 25th as Jacob Budenz kicks off Writers Reading for the spring 2025 semester. Jacob will read from their work and take questions from the audience.
Writers Reading Events are free and open to all students, faculty, staff, and members of the surrounding community.
Jacob Budenz is an author, multidisciplinary performer, and musician with an MFA from University of New Orleans and a BA from Johns Hopkins University. The author of magic realist short story collection Tea Leaves (Bywater Books 2023) and poetry chapbook Pastel Witcheries (Seven Kitchens Press 2018), Budenz has fiction and poetry in print journals including Slipstream and Door Is A Jar, zeitgeisty online journals including Wussy Mag and Taco Bell Quarterly, and anthologies by Mason Jar Press, Unbound Edition, and more. Jake’s lauded theater and performance work has appeared in Baltimore City Paper’s Top Ten Staged Productions of Baltimore City, and they have presented spoken word performance for the Walter Art Museum's Queering the Collection Series. They are a recent winner of the Baker Innovative Projects Award as well as a runner up for the Patty Friedman poetry prize.
