A distinguished voice in American letters, he is a Guggenheim Fellow, a New America Foundation National Fellow, and a Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Foundation Fellow at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
Eubanks is the author of three previous nonfiction books and served for years as the director of publishing at the Library of Congress, shaping the nation’s literary and cultural record. His work explores history, memory, race, and place with uncommon depth and clarity.
