About this Event
Description:
How do we write about what is missing to describe what is there? What does place offer us and what is the price? This presentation will demonstrate the importance of strategic place writing in developing, grounding, and mobilizing a story while also reflecting how climate change is altering how we might consider place in story. Topics include: When writing about a real location, how do we write it so that it seems more real on the page than it does in personal experience? When writing a fictive place, how do we write it so that it seems like a real place or a place that might exist?
