About this Event
Jasmine Crockett represents a new wave of Democrats. Committed to civil rights, economic and social justice, and to voting rights, Rep. Crockett makes noise. She's from Dallas, Texas, and with the ongoing redistricting battle, has been shouting louder than ever. She's brash, she's unconventional, and she holds nothing back when it comes to speaking truth to power. She's a magnet for criticism from both establishment Democrats and Republicans who find her communication style uncomfortably blunt. Rep. Crockett has a powerful punch, and has a knack for irritating the president. Before she became a member of Congress, she was a public defender, and served in the Texas state legislature.
Brian Tyler Cohen is arguably the prince of new media-- and the busiest guy around. He hosts podcasts and youtube programs galore, including, of course his enormously popular video podcast, No Lie. There's not a Democrat in Washington who isn't itching to be interviewed by Brian. His videos receive millions of views, as he makes the issues accessible and wildly engaging. In his spare time, he's written a terrific book called Shameless: Republicans' Deliberate Dysfunction and the Battle to Preserve Democracy. Shameless focuses on the bewildering complacency of the GOP and right wing media towards the MAGA movemenet and Trump. The great news is, it's now in paperback.
