Write Your Story: Baraboo Writers Blast Memoir Series

Overview: Memoir Mapping: Explore roots, resilience & joy. Free workshops by Baraboo Writers Blast at Baraboo Library, Jan–Apr 2026

This January, Baraboo Writers Blast launches a four‑month memoir series—an invitation to recognize the memories already within us, pressing to be expressed and shared.

Session One: Memoir Mapping Discover practical tools to chart life experiences into stories. Together we’ll explore roots, resilience, joy, love, and turning points—the themes that shape every journey.

Why Join? This series helps writers map out their story or memoir using tangible tools. You’ll practice:

  • Finding where to begin when memories feel overwhelming
  • Shaping the book you may want to pass down
  • Gathering and sharing lessons from the intertwining experiences that shape your life’s course

Our lived stories matter—not only to ourselves but to those we love. Documenting them ensures that moments of the past, which might otherwise fade with time, become roots that grow into branches of legacy, blossoms of resilience, and stories that connect us across generations.

What to Expect: With guidance from local writer Windy Lynn Warren, participants will explore creative exercises that awaken memories and spark ideas. These recollections often press forward, asking to be written or spoken. Whether you jot them in pencil, type them on a keyboard, or record them in your own voice, this workshop offers tools to help those accounts be heard, documented, and shaped into memoir.

Community & Support: This is a safe, supportive space where respect and community guide our practices. You’ll leave with new techniques for capturing your experiences and the encouragement of a group that values every story.
