About this Event
Award winning poet and Kennedy Center Vice President Marc Bamuthi Joseph welcomes all writers, creative thinkers, and emerging political scientists to the Holle Center for this exciting workshop. Joseph recently debuted The Just and the Blind at Carnegie Hall, and the work garnered a rave review in the New York Times, and spawned a TED talk that's been viewed more than 3 million times. At the heart of The Just and the Blind is the question of personal liberation in the face of civic restrictions. How does art help us to 'get free', and how do we extend our personal inspirations toward community growth and safety? Using film, music, and theater, Joseph will guide participants in a 60 minute arts driven workshop at the intersection of the poetic and the political.
