Your Story Matters! Join us and let the words flow from your heart!
Join Write from the Heart, a guided writing practice that nurtures inspiration, connection and a sense of calm! Find freedom in letting the ink flow across the thin blue line of the page! You'll discover your unique voice and create space to express what really matters to you!
Whether you are a seasoned writer or have never picked up the pen, you'll find the Writing Practice process stirring, encouraging and uplifting. All are welcome here!
Writing in community is an engaging and powerful practice that sparks memories, deepens creativity, and strengthens writing skills.
Regular Writing Practice improves mindfulness as writers are always "noticing" things to write about!
Beginning February 9th or 11th, 2026 - Monday Mornings In-Person 10-12pm, or, Wednesday Evenings ON ZOOM 6-8 pm - 8 weeks - 2 hours each week.
What You’ll Experience
After listening to a few poems for inspiration writers are given a “jumpline” (sentence starter) and will write for about 8-10 minutes. Writers are then encouraged to read their write aloud, but that is never required. The group listens and gives “recall” only by simply restating a line or phrase they heard. This helps to create a brave space and allows the writer to be witnessed. Critique, questions and cross-talk are not part of the Writing Practice process. Depending on the size of the group 2-4 jumplines are given each time.
We'll explore themes such as childhood stories, our family & ancestors, our Critic, our Muse, endings, change and impermanence. Occasionally we may "play" with a poetry form, or we might write together in pairs. Each week, writers will receive “Homewriting” jumplines—not as required homework, but as an invitation to write more between sessions.
