About this Event
Join us for our weekly "Write for the Reef" hands-on workshops dedicated to protecting the Great Barrier Reef through the power of letter writing. As part of a committed group of advocates, you will meet regularly to craft compelling letters that urge our leaders to take stronger action on climate change and safeguard the Reef from local threats.
You can attend the first workshop on August 27th either in person or via Zoom. We'll see you at 5:30 for a welcome and snacks, followed by the workshop from 6 to 7 p.m,.
Subsequent work shops will be held via zoom only.
Our letter-writing sessions will address critical issues such as reef bleaching, water pollution, and the need for comprehensive climate policies.
We’ll provide all the necessary information, templates, and support to help you articulate your concerns and solutions effectively. Whether you're a seasoned writer or new to advocacy, your voice is crucial in the fight to preserve this natural wonder and the 64,000 jobs that depend on it.
Come along to connect with like-minded individuals, share your passion for the Reef, and make a tangible difference. Together, we can ensure that the voices of the Cairns community are heard loud and clear, driving real change for the future of the Great Barrier Reef.
Can't attend in person? Register for virtual attendance to receive a Zoom link instead, and please log in at 6pm.
Can't do Tuesday nights? You can still contribute! Write to [email protected] to set up a day/time for your personalised letter-writing induction.
