WVR Presents : Three crushing bands descend on Hastings, pushing the boundaries and blurring the edges of metal, blackened electronic noise and ethereal doom.London based WREN return to Hastings to perform their new album 'Black Rain Falls' (Church Road Records) in full.
With support from WARREN SCHOENBRIGHT (Human Worth) and local doom sludge trio RUSTORM.
For over a decade WREN have meticulously crafted a sound and aesthetic inspired by the complex nature of the lived human condition; being as cathartic as it is bleak. They aspire to connect with each person encountering their music, be it through recorded or live listening. In whatever way it is experienced the music is a visceral offering to its audience to take from it what they will.
The theme inherent throughout ‘Black Rain Falls’ is the shared grief of the band members. The members of the band experienced a tragic loss that has redefined their reasons for living and playing music.
WREN have played hundreds of shows across the UK and Europe with bands including Kowloon Walled City (USA), Inter Arma (USA), Unsane (USA), Fórn (USA), Moloch (UK), Birds In Row (FR) and more, and played at festivals such as Damnation, Arctangent, Desertfest, Incubate (NL) and Raw Power to name a few.

WARREN SCHOENBRIGHT are a London-based, experimental noise three-piece. The band consists of Dan McClennan on drums and electronics, Alexander Virji on bass and vocals and Sebastian Tull on live percussion. Known for their frantic, uncompromisingly loud and visually stark live performances, Warren Schoenbright are preoccupied with using the classical trope of a descent into the Underworld to explore how transformative and redemptive navigating the melancholic and horrifying depths of one’s mind can be.

RUSTORM - The ethereal doom metal trio was founded by members of the 90s alt-metal band ‘Pulkas’, Rob Lewis and Jules McBride who made a serious mark on the metal scene with the Pulkas album ‘Greed’ (released through Earache records). Having subsequently played separately for many different bands such as Hercules ii, Test Dept, MurderOne & Evi Vine, Rob and Jules formed Rustorm together in 2020, playing their debut live show in 2023. Now a three piece, the band are due to release their second album in March 2025.
