REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
On December 13th, Wreaths Across America will be at Fort Douglas Post Theater to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country's fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud.
Ceremony Details:
*Arrive between 815a - 915a to ensure time to have everyone parked and ready for the ceremony.
*Only W3 admin will be parked in front of the Post Theatre.
*Jeep Parking for the ceremony will be in front of the Fort Douglas Military Museum on Potter St, Salt Lake City, UT 84113. Feel free to line up on the street, be sure that everyone is facing Fort Douglas Blvd, as we will be pulling out in that direction.
Cemetery Details:
*Dress warmly in layers!
*All Wreaths should be placed on the north side of the headstone with the ribbon placed at the top of the wreath.
*When laying the wreath, be sure to say the soldier’s name out loud to ensure that they are remembered. (W3 Admin will have pennies to place at the headstone of each soldier).
*Any headstone that has Star of David on it, does not get a wreath but still say the Soldier’s name out loud to ensure they are remembered.
*POW headstones do not get a wreath, they will be roped off and honored with their country flag separately.
