Wreaths Across America at Hampton National Cemetery

NEW FOR 2025! New traffic pattern! Parking spots for the event have been moved to a designated lot. We'll be entering via Emancipation Dr. only.
On Saturday, Dec 13, 2025, we will gather as a group to lay wreaths at Wreaths Across America in Hampton National Cemetery. The event begins promptly at 12:00 pm with a solemn ceremony followed by the wreath laying.
Chapter members are encouraged to arrive by 11:30 am to allow time to find each other (wearing Penn State clothing is recommended) and to take a group photo. Total time investment is less than 2 hours.
- Event is rain or shine.
- Children are welcomed but be cognizant of their tolerance levels.
- Military personnel are encouraged to wear their uniforms.
- You may have water with you, but no food is permitted on cemetery grounds.
- PSUHR board member Tom Forrest will be our point person. Look for the group of Penn Staters dressed in PSU attire along the paved road between the cemetery entrance and the dais.
Directions - From I-64, take exit 267 (Hampton University exit) and turn onto US-60W/VA-143W (Settlers Landing Road) toward Hampton University. Turn onto Tyler Street at the entrance to HU. Proceed to Emancipation Drive.
