About this Event
Embrace the festive season by joining our Christmas wreath-making workshop led by Phi Evans, an expert in working with natural fibres and plants. In this creative and hands-on session, you will craft your very own unique wreath using a variety of locally sourced materials, including evergreen foliage, seed heads, flower stems, leaves, and berries.
Phi brings over two decades of experience working with nature to create beautiful, functional art. While her primary practice involves weaving with natural fibres like rush and willow, this workshop will focus on the art of wreath-making—an opportunity to combine natural elements in a mindful and creative way. Phi is passionate about celebrating the versatility and beauty of the plants around us, and in this workshop, you will learn how to arrange and style these materials into a stunning holiday wreath.
You’ll begin the session by exploring the materials provided, focusing on their colours, textures, and how they can be arranged into a festive, balanced design. Phi will guide you step by step, offering tips on how to layer greenery, attach decorative elements, and create a wreath that feels both personal and inspired by nature. As you work, you'll enjoy the calming, meditative experience of working with your hands in a relaxed, supportive setting.
Whether you are new to wreath-making or have created your own before, this workshop is designed for all skill levels. By the end of the session, you will leave with a beautifully crafted Christmas wreath to display on your door or gift to a loved one, along with newfound knowledge about working with natural materials.
All materials are included, and no prior experience is necessary. This is a perfect opportunity to get creative, enjoy some seasonal cheer, and take home a handmade wreath that celebrates the beauty of nature during the festive season.
