While we think Minnesota is wonderful year-around, when the snow starts to fall and the Christmas spirit is in the air it really is the "most wonderful time of the year"! Your local Elves (ahem Gurus) want to help you "Deck the Halls" and get you into the holiday spirit as we learn how to make our very own holiday wreaths! Join us for a very special evening featuring locally crafted beer, delicious food, a wreath making class, and some holiday cheer!
On select Thursdays and Fridays in early December - our evening will begin at one of the Twin Cities' original craft breweries - Indeed Brewing Company, located in the Solar Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis. Indeed has been a leader in the craft beer movement since its inception in and been a force for bettering their community through their Indeed You Can program. They believe that "innovation isn't just one thing - it's a culture created around good people, beers, and experiences." Here, your GetKnit Gurus will be awaiting your arrival and get you checked in for festive and fun night. After you get settled in, you'll be welcomed to order up an included craft beer, seltzer, THC, or N/A of your choice from Indeed's eclectic line-up. New for 2025 - we've partnered up with local favorite and acclaimed Pizzeria Lola for this year's featured dinner! Pizzeria Lola was founded over a decade ago by James Beard Awarded Chef, Ann Kim. Just for our event, they'll be serving up a delicious buffet featuring their Kale Salad which has fresh kale, radish, carrot, scallion, golden raisin, ricotta salata, toasted panko, and miso vinaigrette. It will be served alongside a variety of five of their fan-favorite pizzas which will include: Old Reliable: house red sauce, pecorino, mozzarella) a classic cheese pizza; MySharoni: house red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, fennel sausage; Margherita: plum tomato sauce, basil, fior di latte; Forager: fontina, taleggio, portobello, crimini, shiitake mushrooms, tarragon, parsley; and the Tavern: house red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, jalapeno, honey...all for us to enjoy!
After we eat and drink our fill, we will be ready to learn a new craft and create a take-home 18" or 24" wreath made up of Noble Fir boughs (branches) from our local landscaping pals, Mickman Brothers. We'll first get a demonstration from our Local Gurus on how to put together our own wreaths, and orient ourselves with all the materials used in creating these festive decorations. Then we will test out our new skills and get to work like a busy little elf! As part of this class, you can choose between an 18" wire frame (This size is perfect for hanging on a standard-sized door) or a 24" wire frame (This size is perfect for hanging on a wall, outdoors, or above a fireplace). You'll also receive all materials to attach your boughs, 10-15 Noble Fir boughs, ribbon to create your own bows, and an assortment of decorations to help you deck out your wreath!
To top off our night, we will be treated to a flavorful cookie from Pizzeria Lola for dessert - which will serve as the perfect pairing to our festive and fun evening together!
