WQPT PBS for the Quad Cities Region is hosting their 2024 Imagination Station for kids on Saturday, October 19th. The free family-friendly event takes place on the campus of Western Illinois University-Quad Cities in Moline, Illinois. The event is free, however, each person attending must have a ticket. WQPT requests that families only register once so that every family has the opportunity to attend. Tickets are available October 1st at 8:00 am at wqpt.org/imaginationstation. A total of 4,000 tickets will be distributed for either the morning (9:00-11:00) or afternoon (12:00-2:00) sessions.
PBS characters attending include Alma from Alma’s Way, Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Katrina Kitty, Nature Cat, Xavier Riddle, Molly of Denali, Elinor from Elinor Wonders Why, Stu from Lyla in the Loop and Zadie from Work it Out Wombats. In addition to meeting their favorite PBS friends, kids can read with the QCCAN Therapy Dogs, join Alina and Hamlet Being Bilingual Rocks! to get creative with art, music, and dance, and explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with the QC Botanical Center’s Plant Discovery Bus.
Each PBS character will have their own station with fun activities, games, and resources to take home — all reinforcing the learning concepts of their specific program. Attendees also receive a free book from the WQPT PBS First Book program.
WQPT is a public media service of Western Illinois University.
