WOŚP LIVERPOOL invites you to our traditional annual mountain challenge! 🎒
Once again, we are joining forces and hearts to climb Whernside (736m) in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales and support the 34th Grand Finale of The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP)! ❤️
📢 THE GOAL OF THE 34TH GRAND FINALE:
Diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract diseases in the youngest patients.
PLAYING WITH THE MOTTO:
Healthy Tummies for Our Children 👶
🗓️ WHEN AND WHERE?
Date: Sunday, January 11, 2026
Gathering Time: 8:30 AM
Start on the trail: Approximately 9:15 AM
Meeting Location: Free parking along the B6255 road (right at the junction of Blea Moor Road with Gauber Road).
Approximate Postcode: Ribblehead, Carnforth LA6 3AS 🗺️
🚶 ROUTE AND ATTRACTIONS
Goal: Whernside, the highest peak in the Yorkshire Dales.
Route Length: 13.5 km
Elevation Gain: Just over 500 m
Difficulty Level: Moderate. Estimated time for the entire route at a calm pace is about 5 hours.
Before the start: Distribution of commemorative hearts 💖 and a chance to bid on Grand Finale auction items! 🎁
At the Finish Line (for the tough ones): Our volunteers will be waiting with hot tea ☕ and delicious sweet buns from Polish Village Bread! 🥐
🧤 WHAT TO BRING?
Remember, it's the middle of winter! Prepare for mountain conditions:
Mandatory: Comfortable hiking boots, hat, gloves, warm clothing (preferably layered), and waterproofs. 🧥
Essentials: Water and provisions for the trail.
Most Important: A smile and willingness to help! 😊
