This Oakville & Calistoga focused winery began in 1979 before the glitz & glamor the tour buses and the development of billion dollar wineries in the area! A family business when 2nd owner Patrick O'Dell purchased it in 1993 and renamed it Turnbull Cellars with his daughter Zoe Johns taking over leadership later. Turnbull focuses on crafting high-end estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon from its four vineyards across Oakville and Calistoga controlling every step from farming to winemaking. The winery is known for its commitment to estate viticulture sustainability and providing a genuine Napa Valley wine experience. Winemaker Peter Heitz (no relation to Heitz Cellars) leads the winemaking team applying a deep understanding of vineyard management and winemaking techniques to create the winery's distinct wines built on his family's start in Napa in 1896 and his own youth growing up tending to his family's vineyards in Carneros.

This will be a nice leisurely treat after the crowds and range experienced over Grapefest and hopefully we'll find a gem or two to put away in the cellar for special occasions!
