Our monthly in-person sit down tastings offer a selection of six whiskies (1oz pours each) served with light snack tastes tasting notes great moderated conversation and LOTS of laughs along the way!
Around the World in 100 minutes +/- = We're gathering a line up of global whiskies to see what's happening in the new to whiskey places around the world. As distilling is following the craft beer trade and governments permit more and more commercial distilleries there are new lines and expressions making it to Texas' market that may be worthy of being on your back bar at home.
* Japanese - new rules went it to effect in 2021 more home grown than ever now!
* Taiwan - One billionaire and then the state government got in to distilling....
* Australia - Growing trade and good wine distributors bringing more and more up north
* France - They've had the tech the stills and tradition from Cognac & Armagnac limited whiskies though
* England - 1905 - 2009 there were none but they're coming back!
* India - not exactly new and one of the largest consumers of "whisky" single malts less than 1% of trade
Meeting the grade to export your brand into major markets like the US requires financial heft and good products. Initially importers will look for ones that offer competitive taste to allow frictionless entry into the marketplace but as they develop a presence we see more of their home personality peeking through.
