Meet Nancy Baker
Nancy Croft Baker is the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, where she leads strategic philanthropy and community impact initiatives. She previously served as Development Director for AIDS Response Effort, Inc., strengthening donor relationships, launching the organization’s first development and retention plans, and expanding grant and major gift strategies.
Before moving to Winchester during COVID, Nancy spent seven years as Communications Director for INMED Partnerships for Children, shaping global messaging and driving multi‑sector engagement across five countries. Her roles include communications and development leadership at TMG Construction Corporation, more than two decades as a freelance writer, and senior editorial positions with national trade publications and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
A magna cum laude graduate of East Carolina University, Nancy is an active community volunteer; a member of the Winchester Rotary Club, Top of Virginia Regional Chamber and United Business Partners BNI group; and co‑author of The Frugal Marketer. She is widely recognized for her strategic insight, storytelling expertise, and commitment to strengthening communities.
